Rachele Barbieri finished the Tour of Chongming Island the way she started it, with a top-10 result. After a seventh place in the first stage she finished sixth in the third and final stage.
All three stages of the Tour of Chongming Island finished in a bunch sprint. Rachele Barbieri had a solid start with a seventh place in the first stage. The second stage the team had less luck in the final and had to be satisfied with a 12th place of Marta Jaskulska. In the third stage Barbieri gave it another shot for a good result. The Italian rider had a powerfull sprint and finished sixth.
“I am not totally satisfied, but my acceleration was good today. That means that the legs are there, so that gives some confidence for the Tour of Guangxi. That will be our final race of the season, so we are committed to give it all one more time”, Barbieri commented after the stage.
