On the third day of the UAE Tour Women the peloton headed to the Jebel Hafeet, a hard climb of almost 11 kilometres. Liv Racing TeqFind tried to animate the stage in an earlier part of the race.
After a good opening stage Liv Racing TeqFind had a hard time during the second stage full of crosswinds and echelon action. On the third day the team took a little revanche and was in the front when the peloton was split in the crosswinds. With the hard Jebel Hafeet looming in the distance the team showed that the legs and the motivation are there.
“The girls did a good stage today. We are here with our squad for the classics, so we knew this would be a hard stage for us. In the crosswinds section we showed our potential. We can be satisfied with that. Unfortunately we lost Thalita, who abandoned the race because she was not feeling well. Now we focus on the last stage tomorrow, we will try to go for another chance with Tereza”, sports director Wim Stroetinga told after the stage.
