Demey animates final stage Tour de Suisse Women

Also during the final stage Liv Racing TeqFind was in the spotlights. Valerie Demey defended the team colors in the day`s breakaway.

The fourth and final stage of the Tour de Suisse Women went over 100 kilometres with start and finish in Ebnat-Kappel. A group of ten riders including Valerie Demey took off right after the start. The group took a nice advantage of almost three minutes. On the Hemberg, the hardest climb of the day, two riders stayed in the front. Demey and the other early escapees were dropped and reeled in by the first part of the peloton.

“My plan was to attack as I had nothing to lose. Yesterday I also tried to get in the day`s breakaway, but that didn`t work out. Today I managed to get in the group of ten riders. We took a nice lead, but on the long climb the gap dropped quickly and my legs started to feel empty. Still I am happy that I could show myself in the breakaway today. It was a good race after my altitude camp. Hopefully this gives me good legs at the Belgian championships this weekend”, Demey commented after the stage.
