The Baloise Ladies Tour opened with a prologue over 3,9 kilometres in Utrecht. Jeanne Korevaar opened strong with a top-10 finish.
In Utrecht the peloton started for the first assignment of the Baloise Ladies Tour: a prologue over 3,9 kilometres. The course wasn`t really technical and suited the real powerhouses. World time trial champion Ellen van Dijk clocked the best time. Jeanne Korevaar was the first Liv Racing Xstra in the race against the clock. She finished in a strong sixth place.
“In a prologue like this you have to go full gas from start till finish. After every corner I tried to accelerate as good as I could. I gave everything I had and this was the result. Of course I am happy with it, a good way to start this race. The next days we want to race assertive as team and try to show ourselves”, Korevaar commented after the race.
Tomorrow the race continues with a stage in Zulte. In the first part of the stage there will be some cobblestone sections, followed by a local lap which will be taken seven times.
