Marta Jaskulska 15th in Dwars Door Vlaanderen

The women`s peloton rode the Belgian cobbled classic as last preparation for the Ronde van Vlaanderen on Sunday. Marta Jaskulska defended our team colors in the front, finishing 15th.

Seven cobbled sectors and eight climbs were waiting for the riders Wednesday afternoon. The peloton stayed together until the Berg Ten Houte. After some attacks four riders got in the front, followed by a reduced peloton of 25-30 riders. Marta Jaskulska rode bravely in that group. Despite several counter attacks and changes at the front, the reduced peloton came back together at 17 kilometres from the finish line.

Demi Vollering got clear in the final kilometres and took the win in Waregem. Behind her the chase group spilt in two pieces. Jaskulska was in the second chase group and crossed the line in 15th place. Another strong result of the Polish Liv Racing TeqFind rider, who finished 13th in the Classic Brugge-De Panne last week.

“I was really focused on my position in the peloton. I knew it was very important to be well positioned for the important points in the race. After one of the climbs the peloton split and I was in the first group. There was a lot of action in our group. It was hard to follow it all and felt my legs in the final kilometres. I am happy with my result. It shows my improvement as a rider. I want to show more of it in the future”, Jaskulska commented after the race.
