Another weekend, another race for Liv Racing TeqFind. After the cobbles and hills in the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad the team will participate in the 9th edition of the Strade Bianche.
The famous Italian one day race is know about its ‘settore sterrato’ – the white gravel roads – and the iconic finish on the Piazza del Campo in Sienna. This year`s edition goes over 136 kilometres and includes 8 sections of gravel roads with a total of 31,4 kilometres. Just before the riders reach the finish in Sienna a hard climb Via Santa Caterina awaits, a point to make the real decision when a group of riders is still together.
Spanish champioen Mavi Garcia will lead Liv Racing TeqFind during this classic race. She will be accompanied by Caroline Andersson, Tereza Neumanova, Katia Ragusa, Sabrina Stultiens and Quinty Ton.
Sports director Giorgia Bronzini looks forward to Saturday`s race. “I am really happy with how the team started the season. We rode very well in Valenciana with this group. If we ride with the same spirit we did there, we can put down a good race. Mavi is our leader and did well in this race in the past. I am confident the other girls can support her. We also will look for the breakaway. When a big group goes on adventure we will have to be there as well to anticipate for the finale.”
Garcia finished second in 2020 and aims for another good result this year. “We started in a good way in Valenciana. The team was strong over there and my last two days were also good. The training went well the last weeks, so I think I am ready for this race. If I feel good again then I will certainly aim for another top-5 result or maybe even a place on the podium on Saturday.”
