Liv Racing TeqFind closed the season with the Tour of Guangxi. Rachele Barbieri aimed for a good result in the last race of the season, but wasn`t lucky in the sprint.
The Tour of Guangxi started some days after the Tour of Chongming Island. Barbieri finished two times in the top-10 during that race and had good hopes for a nice result in Guangxi. Some riders attacked during the race, but it was pretty clear that the race would end in a bunch sprint.
“I felt really strong today. On the both climbs I was in the front and I was really looking forward to the final sprint. Like in Chongming the preparation was hectic, so it was hard to find a good way to launch my sprint. Today I wasn`t lucky and was not able to start my sprint when I wanted. It`s a real shame, because I felt strong and had confidence for a good result”, Barbieri commented after the race which was won by Daria Pikulik.
Barbieri finished 17th in her last race for Liv Racing TeqFind. Next year the Italian rider will move to another team. “I would have loved to finish off my time with the team in a better way. Unfortunately that wasn`t meant to be. The last two years I made some very nice memories in this team. I wish all riders and staff all the best for the future, I am sure we will meet again in the future.”
