Strong Quinty Ton in queen stage Simac Ladies Tour

After two times on the time trial bike and two sprint stage the peloton headed into the hills of Limburg. Quinty Ton was in the first group during the finale and finished inside the top-15.

For the Liv Racing TeqFind riders the start and finish location was a familiar one. Kasteeldomein De Cauberg is one of the team`s sponsors and the riders stay there a couple of times during the season. Today it hosted the fourth stage of the Simac Ladies Tour. Several riders tried to get away in the opening part of the stage, but none of the groups managed to take a significant lead.

The finale was opened with an attack of Annemiek van Vleuten at 55 kilometres from the finish. The peloton got smaller and smaller, but Liv Racing TeqFind still was represented well in the first group. After some accelerations the first group consisted of only 20 riders with Quinty Ton representing Liv Racing TeqFind.

“It was a hard stage with all the hills and the high temperatures. In the start of the stage we were attentive in the front eying a breakaway. Jeanne was very active in the front, but couldn`t get in a right group. The peloton thinned out during the stage and I managed to hold on in the first group till the final time of the Cauberg. That climb doesn`t suit me well, so I tried to find my own tempo to get to the finish as quickly as possible”, Ton commented after the stage.

Ton finished half a minute down on stage winner Lotte Kopecky, who also strengthened her lead in the overall classification. Tomorrow the Simac Ladies Tour will finish with a stage in Arnhem.
