Strong season finish by Caroline Andersson

The second edition of the Tour de Romandie Feminin meant not only Liv Racing TeqFind`s final European race of the season, it also meant the final race of the season for some of our riders.

The race started with a hilly stage, which ended in a sprint of a reduced peloton. Quinty Ton, Mavi Garcia and Caroline Andersson were in that first group. One day later the peloton headed into the mountains with two longs climbs. Spanish champion Mavi Garcia tried to achieve a good result, but had to be satisfied with a 31st place.

On the final day the Liv Racing TeqFind riders were committed to finish the race in style. Sabrina Stultiens was involved in an early breakaway, but was reeled in quickly. Also two attempts of Garcia were neutralized quickly. Due to the high tempo the peloton split in the finale. A strong Andersson was holding on in the first group of riders. The Swedish rider concluded the stage as 18th.

“It was really hard today with a lot of attacks from the beginning. The pace was high on the climbs and that caused a split in the bunch, but after the climbs it came back together for a while. In the finale there was a decisive split and I was in the first group. I kind of enjoyed it actually and felt really strong, though my legs hurt”, Andersson said after the stage.

After the final stage Andersson took some time to look back on the season. “It was nice to feel how I developed during this season. Every race I felt better and stronger. I am super happy that I got the opportunity with this team and the chance to develop myself. I am really proud of what we achieved and am looking forward to the next season.”
