After the Postnord Vårgårda WestSweden Liv Racing Xstra stays in the Northern region to race the Tour of Scandinavia – Battle of the North from 9 to 14 August, a new six-day stage race built on the former Ladies Tour of Norway.

The peloton starts its Tour of Scandinavia in Copenhagen. From there the bunch heads to the Swedish coast, before it heads to Norway. There the peloton will go to Mysen, the climb to Norefjell and after 958 km the race will finish in Harden on August 14.

Two days after her third place in the Postnord Vårgårda WestSweden Valerie Demey will also take the start in the Tour of Scandinavia. Alison Jackson comes fresh of the Commonwealth Games – where she finished 11th in the time trial and 14th in the road race – to Denmark. Marta Jaskulska, Jeanne Korevaar, Tereza Neumanova and Katia Ragusa complete the line-up for Liv Racing Xstra in this stage race.

Neumanova performed well in the Postnord Vårgårda WestSweden too. The Czech champion finished 8th in the hard race and is looking forward to the six-day race which starts on Tuesday. “We had a very succesfull race Sunday. I believe we can take this feeling to the upcoming races as well. I did a good block of training Andorra last month and feel good. In this race I would like to contest the finale of the stages. The results in Vårgårda were very good for the confidence. In Scandinavia we aim for more good results with the team”, Neumanova talked about her feeling and goals for the upcoming race.
