The Women`s World Tour continues with the Trofeo Alfredo Binda on Sunday.
The Italian one day race is named after the legendary Italian cyclist Alfredo Binda, who won the Giro d`Italia five times and became World champion three times. The race over 139 kilometres starts from Maccagno con Pino e Veddasca and will finish in Cittiglio. The first part of the route takes the riders along the Lake Maggiore before the peloton will enter the local circuit around Cittiglio. This circuit contains the known climbs Casale and Orino.
Liv Racing TeqFind will start with Caroline Andersson, Mavi Garcia, Marta Jaskulska, Katia Ragusa, Sabrina Stultiens and Quinty Ton.
For Jaskulska it will be her third race of the season after the UAE Tour and the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. “Those were good races to start the season. In the UAE Tour we really rode as a team and worked together well. In de Omloop I was satisfied with my performance, but I still have to improve some small things to get in my best shape for the upcoming races. After the Omloop I went on altitude camp on Tenerife. The weather was good over here and I could do some real good training rides. I feel ready for my next races, to start with the Trofeo Binda.”
“The team is really motivated to get a good result in this race. Mavi is our plan A for sure. She is in good shape and everybody wants to work for her. However it is a race and everything can happen, so as always we have a plan B ready. A breakaway can make it till the finish or it will be a sprint with a select group. I think we are ready for all scenarios.”
