After Denmark and Sweden the peloton started in Norway for the third stage of this Tour of Scandinavia. Alison Jackson defended her green jersey with success.
As soon as the start flag went down the first attacks came in the third stage from Moss to Sarpsborg over 118,9 kilometres. Two riders managed to get away and took a three minute advantage. At 55 kilometres from the finish there was a big crash in the peloton, with three Liv Racing Xstra riders involved. Luckily all three riders could get back on their bikes and resume the stage without any serious injuries.
In the meanwhile the gap of the escapees got smaller. One rider bridged from the peloton to the leaders and with three they tried to stay ahead. Without luck, as the peloton reeled everybody in. Alison Jackson was aiming for points at the intermediate sprints during the stage. She took another five points and that was enough to keep the green jersey for the third day in a row. After the final intermediate sprint Jackson had a small gap and tried her luck, but everything came back together in the final kilometres.
Another sprint had to bring the decision. Just like the former days it was Marianne Vos who took the stage win. Jackson was the first Liv Racing Xstra in an 11th place.
