Two riders in top-10 Omloop der Kempen

A day after her fourth place in Veenendaal-Veenendaal Rachele Barbieri tried her luck in the bunch sprint of the Omloop der Kempen.

The Omloop der Kempen was a fast race and had the same scenario as one day earlier in Veenendaal. A small lead group animated a big part of the race, but with the finish in sight the escapees were caught and another bunch sprint had to bring the decision. Liv Racing TeqFind worked hard in order to bring the escapees back and to bring Rachele Barbieri in a good position for the sprint. The Italian sprinter could not repeat her win of last year and just missed the podium with a fourth place. With Katia Ragusa in eight place Liv Racing TeqFind had two riders in the top-10 of this race.

“It is a little frustrating how this year is going. Yesterday I had good legs, but today I had some allergies troubling me during the race. The team was very strong however and guided me towards the final sprint. In the sprint I just missed the power to get on the podium. It is too bad, but I will keep the spirit high and believe that better times will come. I`m really happy with how the team worked today. So that gives some confidence for our next races, to start with the RideLondon Classique of next week”, Barbieri told after the race.
